Day 32. Morning. Estevan, SK

You don’t know Jack!

But that’s not your fault: I completely forgot to introduce him along with the other crew members in the first post. Jack is a diminutive but invaluable crew member who lives on the floorboards in the back seat of the pickup most of the time. Some days though, he perches on the dashboard and tells us where to go. Jack’s middle name is Garmin and his last name is GPS. Odd handle, huh?

Jack’s kinda picky and is inflexible on terminology. When you ask him how to get to a certain place, you darn well better use his preferred name for that place or you’ll end up in a cornfield in southeast Nebraska. We’ve yet to visit said cornfield but have ventured towards it several times.

Jack and I had a serious talk last Sunday and that really helped ease our communication issues. We understand each other a lot better now. Well…… to be totally honest, I understand Jack better. Jack’s the independent type and doesn’t really give a hoot about understanding me - the little twerp.

It’s July 1st, Canada Day! Enjoy!

Today we head northwest to Moose Jaw and plan to overnight about 100 miles beyond there. Is Moose Jaw a great name or what?

Pix are of the family reunion: the 6 siblings, playing pickleball, the kid’s waterslide and splash landing pool with the Mississippi River in the background.

  1. I bet your sibs were thrilled that you came. Being the Baby, you're probably everyone's favorite.
It is special to celebrate family times.
